| The Britton's New Bundle of Joy - Siena Joline |
"A brand new baby was born yesterday
Just in time
Papa cried, baby cried
Said "Your tears are like mine"
I heard some words
From a friend on the phone
That didn't sound so good
The doctor gave him two weeks to live
I'd give him more if I could
You know that I would now
If only I could
You know that I would now
If only I could
Down the middle drops one more
Grain of sand
They say that
New life makes losing life easier to understand..."
I'll be sure to say a prayer that Joey helps look over little Siena on her new journey into this world.
In my post the other day, I mentioned the crazy storms we had here... And I snapped a photo today of proof... This photo is of a barn about 150 yards or so from our apartment complex that got flattened by the tornado Monday morning. Insane, eh? I also posted a picture (kind of hard to tell) but it's of an evergreen tree that was uprooted, a few yards down from the flattened barn. So crazy how close of a call this could have been for us! But oddly, I wasn't nervous of the weather. More than anything I was amazed. It's amazing how quickly something can be destroyed, uprooted, flattened... And amazing how quickly things can just simply go back to normal and calm. The tornado left the Prospect area... not sure if it dissipated or if it continued on... but I do know that shortly after, a tornado touched down in Henry County (less than 20 minutes north of us) and it flattened a few houses and injured some people. The news said it was considered an F3 tornado... Pretty crazy indeed.

To finish out my daily rants - I had an exam this morning (don't even ask - it was sucky!), spent time vaccuming and shampooing my carpets, framed a few pics for my walls, and organized my drawers... Quite the productive day... Way more productive than I had initially planned on being when I woke up this morning. My goal for the day was to get to sleep but that didn't happen. Oh well... maybe someday before I die I'll get a good night's sleep. Someday...
The week is almost half way over, and that is good news for me. I'm looking forward to the weekend, time spent with family and family from out of town - The Miosi's. We should hopefully have a good time and keep ourselves busy. Alex and his parents are planning to come to Louisville on Friday and see the city that day, so I do believe Annie and I (and hopefully Cara!) will head to lunch and around town with them.
I guess I should finish this up, now that it has reverted back to my normal boring jibberish. Perhaps I'll force myself to go to sleep early... but doubt it.
Goodnight all.. and Happy Birthday Baby Siena Joline!
